Create a visual summary
The key to making your research understood and collaborating is to speak plainly and to adopt a targeted approach to dissemination in short and accessible formats. This is the mantra of Research Retold.
Read more below about the aim, techniques, tools and resources you will learn about in this workshop.

Aim of this workshop
To offer researchers a step-by-step framework to create a 2-page visual summary of their findings to showcase their expertise in an accessible and visual format.
You will learn:
-
The benefits of communicating your research beyond academia
-
How to engage and communicate with different audiences
-
How to articulate your research in 60 seconds using simple words
You will be able to:
-
What exact steps to consider before, during and after creating your visual summary
-
The five most important questions to ask about your audience
-
Select only the most relevant messages for your audience from your research
Put theory into practice:
-
Exchange ideas with your peers and getting feedback on your research visual summary draft
-
Have a clear structure and template to follow
-
Practice with an online software to activate your thinking and get you to take the (often hardest) first step

“The discussion on ‘before creating my visual summary’ will not just be good for creating the visual summary but also good for thinking about how to communicate my research in general.”
“I feel much more confident about getting started writing a visual summary now and have the software to do it.”
