The key to making your research understood and collaborating with businesses is to speak plainly and to adopt a targeted approach to dissemination in short and accessible formats. This is the mantra of Research Retold.

Aim of this workshop

To help researchers clearly communicate their existing research to private sector stakeholders, identify ways to approach and make connections with these stakeholders, as well as create potential collaborations.

You will learn:

  • The benefits of communicating your research beyond academia and of engaging with businesses
  • What formats are best for engaging with businesses
  • The potential scenarios you may find yourself in to initiate a collaboration

You will be able to:

  • Have confidence in what you have to offer 
  • Know how to present your research in an appealing and digestible way
  • Initiate a collaboration with a business that is aligned with your research

Put theory into practice:

  • Learn about real-life collaborations between researchers and businesses
  • See concrete examples of successful research communication formats
  • Complete practical exercises to activate your thinking and get you to take the (often hardest) first step
